PRESS RELEASE
Dallas, TX - DCS sponsored cowboy, Adam Gray has plenty to smile about. He tied for second place in the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo tie-down roping average held in Las Vegas and placed in the top 10 in the world in the 2011 tie-down overall standings. “I am pleased with how things worked out this year, of course my goal was to win the average, but tying for 2nd was a huge accomplishment” according to the Seymour, TX cowboy.
What a difference a year makes, last year Adam just missed qualifying for the WNFR in tie-down roping, and finished 19th in the world standings. This year he missed first place by .7 of a second in the tie-down roping average and finished 9th in the world standings in the same category. “Even the smallest mistake can cost you a lot of money, this year I focused on not making any mental errors and it paid off.” Adam’s 2011 prize money will exceed $130,000. Riding horses “Salty and “Cletus” in various rounds, Adam’s best time was 7.7 seconds which helped him qualify for the Calgary Stampede being held July 6th – 15th in Calgary, Alberta Canada. The Calgary Stampede only accepts the top 20 men in the world and only 10 from the U.S.
Adam’s 2012 schedule starts in January in Waco, TX where he won the All-American Pro Rodeo finals in 2011. On January 6th, Adam will participate in the PRCA RAM Texas Circuit Finals being held at the Heart ‘O Texas coliseum. “I’m enjoying the winter break, but I am looking forward to getting back on the circuit”.
